Project Description

South Sun Rises

A BILINGUAL POETIC NARRATIVE OF THE BORDERLAND

Brief

South Sun Rises tells the story of a single mom coming over to the United States on the great Mexican/American border of El Paso/Juarez. She raised 4 children on her own, while legally becoming an American citizen. It really is the classic story of the pursuit of the American Dream. Though the story is rife and textured with certain realities that we see here on the border. She, alongside her family was able to persevere. The book was one of the recipients of 2016’s prestigious Southwest Book Award. The book enabled the author, Valentin Sandoval, to travel the country and keynote a couple of conferences as well as present to multiple universities. The book is also used in a couple of community colleges and Universities across Texas.

Deliverables

At Power, story is king. We also bring over 20 years of experience in television, film, and freelancing for ad agencies. Two of our partners also have years of experience running their own highly successful ladies pant manufacturing company that included them creating their entire marketing and branding. Branding is telling the narrative of the life of your product. It is a natural passion that develops with each campaign we create.

Results

South Sun Rises can be purchased on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or independent bookstores throughout the Southwest. Our in house writing crew includes Richie Maruffo a college English instructor and runs the region’s longest running open mic series, Barbed Wire Open Mic series that has been around for more than 10 years. Open mics are relevant because they tend to be intergenerational, and bring in people from all socio-economic sectors. In a sense, it’s our street team approach to research and studying trends.

Promoting the human story one production at a time.
